Preston Elim Pentecostal Church

Our Vision and Values

The mission statement of our church is “To be, and make disciples of Jesus Christ in authentic community for the good of the world”. We are a group of ordinary people who have been transformed by a relationship with Jesus Christ and we believe that our purpose in life is to make Him known to all who want to meet Him. We are not religious and for us, church is not boring, but a place to meet with like-minded people on the same journey.

The book of Revelation talks about Jesus saying "With your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation". This will be a reality one day in heaven, but while here on earth we at the Elim Pentecostal Church in Preston try to reflect it. We are blessed to have many people in our church who come from around the world giving an international flavour to the church.

What is important to us?

God's Word - we believe that anointed teaching is the catalyst for transforming lives.

Being relevant to society - we believe that the Church should be relevant to the people it is seeking to reach. We want to present the Christian Faith in a way that helps people connect with God and with the church.

Being outward looking - we believe that all people matter to God and therefore matter to us.

Passionate worship - we believe that God has called us to  declare His praises passionately.

Everyone playing their part - we believe that God has given everyone a unique role to play in the ministry of the Church and that the Church needs each of us to play our part to be effective.

Being real - we believe the Church should be a place where we can be authentic,  where we can support one another through life's traumas and rejoice with one another in life's delights.

Being Spirit led - we believe that the Holy Spirit leads us as we seek to follow Jesus and that we need to be responsive to that leading in our lives as individuals and as a church.

Leaders should lead - we believe that churches should be led by men and women with leadership gifts.

Devoted disciples - we believe that followers of Jesus Christ should be committed to growing and demonstrating their love for Jesus by what they do and say.
